Infinite Banking: Taking Control of Your Capital with Andy Tenenbaum, USAFA ‘02
Nov 6, 2026
“This is not about investing, it’s actually about financing the needs of life.” – Andy Tenenbaum, USAFA ‘02
Andy Tenenbaum is a retired Air Force fighter pilot, Delta pilot, and infinite banking practitioner. With a background in economics, Andy was already known as the "money guy" among his peers when he discovered a different approach to building and accessing capital. The infinite banking concept clicked because it addressed a problem in his own finances: his money looked great on paper, but much of it wasn't easily accessible when he needed it.
After experiencing the pain firsthand when a home sale unexpectedly fell through, Andy began helping others understand how infinite banking could fit into their own financial strategy. Today, his approach is education first, helping clients understand the strategy, where it can be useful, and when it may not be the right fit.
In this episode of the SABM podcast, Scott chats with Andy about:
Rethinking Where Your Money Lives: Why Andy began questioning traditional financial strategies after realizing that looking good on paper didn’t necessarily mean having capital available when he needed it.
When Access Changes the Decision: How a failed home sale put Andy’s strategy to the test and showed him the value of having capital available when plans suddenly change.
A Force Multiplier for Your Capital: Andy breaks down how infinite banking is designed to provide greater control, liquidity, and access to capital while it continues working in the background.
Good Financial Habits Still Come First: Why Andy says infinite banking amplifies the habits you already have, and why he’ll tell someone to pump the brakes if their finances aren’t ready for it.
Education Before the Sale: Why Andy believes people should understand a financial tool before they buy it, even if that education ultimately helps them decide it isn’t for them.
